If you're thinking of booking for the evening of music and monologues featuring guitar/percussion duo Against the Grain, plus popular local performers, do it soon! There are only a handful of tickets left. Don't miss this unique evening - more details here!
What started out as a modest winter-themed exhibition is now a full-on seasonal display of the work generated by Crowborough Arts visual artists. This year, for the first time, we're going to have a section devoted to the work generated during our Art in the Garden initiative, that has been running over the last season at Penshurst Place. Don't miss the opportunity to submit your pictures - the exhibition opens on Wednesday 15th November with a launch party in the Porcupine Pantry. Click here for full details of submissions.
In our continuing quest to explore and support the arts in our area, we've put together an evening which we think you'll find exciting and entertaining! Book now as space is limited, and Support the Arts in Crowborough!

Against the Grain
Classically trained percussionist Jo May and guitarist Matt Sullivan will dazzle you with their stunning musical skills and exciting performances. Stirring the styles of West Africa, South America and Spain, Jo and Matt create an original blend of musical flavours to whet your appetite - from jazz tunes with spoons to original masterpieces on balafon, Cajun and flamenco guitar. Against the Grain enthral audiences everywhere including main stage gigs at Towersey, Broadstairs and Sidmouth festivals and, now, of course, Crowborough!
Face to Face
Many Crowborough Arts members know Gaye Jee as an organiser of events and producer of publicity materials and our newsletter. She has been producing fiction and drama for many years, and has written a series of monologues on the theme of transformation specially for this evening. Featuring popular performers from previous events, these short pieces range from the comedic to the chilling.
A 'Heads-up': It's that time of year again when we're starting to think about our annual exhibition at Penshurst Place's Porcupine Pantry. This year, thanks to the success of our 'Art in the Garden' initiative, we've decided to devote part of the exhibition to work produced over the summer in Penshurst Place's wonderful formal gardens. We'll be asking for submissions to arrive with us before 10th November and the exhibition will open with a private view on Wednesday 15th November.
The Pantry is quite a compact space, but we can usually fit in 35 - 40 pieces of work (without anyone having to be exhibited next to the sign for the toilets!). We've sold well in previous years, and experience has shown us that smaller, colourful work tends to do best.
Whether you're new to Crowborough Arts, or have been a member for years, don't miss this great opportunity! More details will be available soon, but most importantly, please do take part - especially if you've made pictures produced at Penshurst.
If you have any questions in the mean time, please get in touch with Angela.
