The weather kept us guessing almost until the last moment this year, but in the end the sun shone for our 4th annual garden party, held once again in the grounds of Stone Cross House, the home of our patrons, David and Jenny Tate. Around 60 members attended, drank wine and prosecco, nibbled canapes and went on garden tours with gardener Michael Pattenden. Entertainment was provided by the East Grinstead Concert Band and a small informal art exhibition was mounted on the fence of the tennis court! All in all, a lovely occasion, with the band giving two renditions of 'Sussex by the Sea', the second of which featured the steering committee singing along with the (rather limited) parts of the lyrics they could remember!
It's been a long time in the developing, but at last our new website is here! Christine Roberts and I spent many hours rewriting content and then I teamed up with our lovely web designer, Lee Pegrum (Webleegogo.weebly.com), to develop the structure and look of the site. Lee has been incredibly patient with my endless "tweaks" and I think now we have a site of which we can all be proud. We hope you will find it easy to navigate - simplicity was our number one priority!
Going forward, we're planning to add features such as interactive maps, and the ability to purchase tickets etc using PayPal. If you have any suggestions for improvements, or anything you'd like to see included, do please let us know. Gaye Jee |
